Description

Novak's Mod 1 Steel Pinion Gear for 5mm Shaft, which are available in eight gear-tooth sizes, are recommended when converting 1/8-scale nitro off-road vehicles for brushless electric use and fit seamlessly with Mod 1 spur gears commonly found on 1/8-scale nitro vehicles. These hardened gears can be used in any application and with any motor that has a 5mm output shaft, including Novak’s HV High-Voltage Brushless Motors.  
All Novak gears include a set screw and have the gear size marked for easy identification. 

 
MOD 1 PINION GEAR-TOOTH RECOMMENDATIONS
 
9T (#5109): works well on small, tight tracks and can be used for most applications  
10T (#5110): works well on small, tight tracks and can be used for most applications  
11T (#5100): works well on small, tight tracks and can be used for most applications  
12T (#5101): works well on small, tight tracks and can be used for most applications  
13T (#5102): performs great on medium-sized tracks  
14T (#5103): performs great on medium-sized tracks  
15T (#5104): excels on large tracks  
16T (#5105): excels on large tracks  

There are exceptions when determining the best gears for specific motors and track conditions, but these gear sets allow drivers the ability to experiment with gear ratios in the search to find the optimal setup.

Note: These gears will not work with a 32-pitch spur gear that is used on the E-Maxx or E-Savage trucks. They only work with Mod 1 spur gears.
